Dear Friends, I remember being struck by a brief scene in Karil Daniel's film Water Baby: A large group of pregnant women were singing together at the clinic of pioneering French surgeon, Michel Odent. They looked so energized and joyful! That image stayed with me, as I raised my own children and sang to many hundreds of others. I believe that singing in community creates an opportunity for deep connections to others, to oneself, and with our unborn. Now I offer that opportunity to expectant mothers in the Bay Area. Treat yourself and your baby to a relaxing, restorative, and fun session of singing. Explore the world's time-tested baby-soothing songs, as well as rounds, chants, and folk songs. Singing is an excellent way to acknowledge and adjust to the rapid physical changes of pregnancy. |
